Windows Media Plugin for Mozilla Firefox Browser

This is unrelated to porn, but very useful for those of you that use Mozilla Firefox as your browser for the web.

For those of you new to Mozilla, it’s a browser that offers more security, more flexibility, easier to use navigation and fully customizable. It’s great for searching porn because it has more powerful popup blockers; don’t let those annoying popups block your porn! It does not block all of them, but a lot more than Internet Explorer. It’s really a matter of personal preference, but try it out (FREE): DOWNLOAD HERE. By the way, it has some cool add-ons too found on this page: add-ons

Anyways, more sites are using embedded videos on their sites and here at WhackBlog.com we will be doing this more often as well, and we want to be sure it works correctly for you. So if you use Mozilla Firefox you may need to install the plugins for Windows Media Player to work correctly, Microsoft does not want this preinstalled on Mozilla Firefox because they would lose a customer!

  • Warp to ActiveX Plug-in
  • It is common to find websites that use Windows Media Player to embed audio and video into a web page. The Windows Media Player plug-in, while not included with Windows Media Player, should be included with Windows itself – however this is not always the case. In addition, many websites use ActiveX only to embed media – making such websites IE-only. This guide discusses how to solve both problems.

If you came here wondering how to make Firefox use the Windows Media Player plug-in play a specific file type instead of QuickTime, then you should know that the WMP plug-in is hard-coded to only play the proprietary Microsoft formats (.asf, .asx, .wm, .wma, .wax, .wmv, and .wvx), and Windows Media Player provides no provision for changing this. For the most common formats found on the web (like mp3, midi, mpg, wav, etc.) you will need to install and configure QuickTime or QuickTime Alternative.

We hope this helps, we had this problem with Mozilla and this fixed it right away! It’s worth it to use Firefox!

Hmm allthough I run Mozilla, there\’s no way I\’m gonna infect my PC with More Microsoft stuff than absolutely necessary, I use Media Player Classic and thats about it, if homepage creators can\’t live without forsing people to use Microsoft stuff, so be it, but I\’m not one of them.
Website managers really should consider fighting against Microsoft, after all it is not Microsoft who set the standard of HTML, JavaScript, php, JavaApplets etc. so why borther with Microsoft at all …

      Hi Oldorf,

Thats exactly how we feel, thats one of the reasons we endorse Mozilla Firefox because it is one of the most secure and stable browsers on the net. Unfortunately the majority of people use Microsoft software, so we need to be sure that everyone has the right to use alternative solutions, after all over 90% of the world uses a PC. So to just stop using Microsoft products all at once would not happen overnight, with more products such as Apple, or simple browsers that use the standard like Firefox come around, more and more people are becoming educated of different alternatives and slowly, day-by-day more companies will come into the picture and Microsoft will have more competition for better products and using the standard more often.

      Thanks,
      James
